House tutorial for beginners.

.) First you create an Box with a Length of 950cm, a Width of 750cm and a Height of 250cm. Then you set up 3 Lengthsegments, 3 Widthsegments and 2 Heightsegments. (Picture one) Haustut1_small.png

Advice: If you dont have the lines like them on picture two then click into the perspective window and then press F4. Haustut2_small.png

.) Now you will convert the Box into a editable mesh. Right click on the box and then select Convert to > Convert to Editable Mesh. (Picture three) Haustut3_small.png

.) Next you extrude the Length and the Width segments about 50cm. You must extrude all Length and Width segments with the triangle face facehaustut.png not with the quadrangle face otherwise it will be a bit roundly. So only do it like it´s shown in picture four. Only one side after the other. You dont have to extrude the ground, but you have to extrude the roof. When your ready it schould look like picture five. Haustut4_small1.png haustut5_small.png

.) Now you need a door, for that you make an box with a Length of 50cm, a Width of 70cm and a Height of 180cm, then you move the box into our house like it´s shown on picture six. haustut6_small.png

.) Now you select the house again and then right click on it and select Cut Polygons. Like picture seven. haustut7_small.png

.) Then you change to the front view (shortcut f). Then you have to cut the polygons arraound the box. Only cut in a straight line otherwise the cut line will disappear. With a bit training it works good. Picture eight. haustut8_small.png

Advice: If there are any problems with the door you only need to select the vertex (verticetut.png) and move them.

.) Next you will delete the ground but we only mark the faces (facehaustut.png) on the ground. To reach the ground change back to perspective view (shortcut p) and then you take the Arc Rotate (drehentut.png) change the angle of vision to see the ground. After you marked the ground simply press del to delete it if he asks Delete Isolated Vertices? Answer with yes. Then it should look like picture nine. haustut9_small.png

Advice: When you insert the house into your map you cant use Weld or Create Polygons when the ground is there that;s the reason why you have to delete it.

.) Next you make the roof. Thats simply easy. First mark the vertices like its schown on picture 10. Tipp: From the front view you can select them better. haustut10_small.png

.) Next you move (verschiebtut.png) the vertices a bit upside. Then it should look like picture eleven. Then you select the middle 2 vertex alignments and move them upside, too. Picture twelve. haustut11_small.png haustut13_small.png

.) Well its not sharp so you need to cut again. Tipp: Take the snap toggle (anheangetut.png) button then you can cut better because it automatically takes the midpoint (Picture thirteen). You need to set it up like its shown on picture fourteen (you can reach the menu by right clicking on the snap toggle) When youre ready change back to vertex selection. midpoint_small.png haustut14_small.png

.) Then you have to move the vertices on the middle alignment upside. Then one face is missing so you have to make one. Select create face and then click the vertices against the clockwise. Remember you need to do that on both sides ;). Picture fifteen. haustut15_small.png

.) Because a roof hasn´t the same width then the house we need the extrude function again. First you mark the roof border (picture sixteen) and then you extrude it about 50cm then it schould look like its shown on picture seventeen. haustut16_small.png haustut17_small.png

.) Now you switch back to the vertex mode and then you move the roof border downside picture eighteen. haustut18_small.png

.) Now you need to extrude the roof border in the length but for that we need to cut again. When youre ready with cutting you have to extrude about 25cm. Picture nineteen. haustut19_small.png

.) Now you make the inside of the house. You need to mark the vertices that you have cutted in step 6. Then you extrude the door 2 times: First time with -30cm and second time with -1cm. Picture twenty. haustut20_small.png

.) Now you need a view where you can see the door from the side. Then you select the vertices in the inside of the house. Then you change to front view. Then you have to scale the vertices apart like it´s shown on picture twentyone. haustut21_small.png haustut22_small.png

.) Then you need to extrude again for the inside. For that you take the faces like its shown on picture twentytwo then you extrude about -1000cm then it should look like picture twentythree. haustut23_small.png

.) In the inside the roof is planar but it should have the form of a V. So you have to cut again for that you can use again the snap toggle. Then you cut the roof into 2 equal edges picture twentsfour. Then there are 2 vertices that you have to move upside till it have a V form. Picture twentyfour. haustut24_small.png

.) When youre ready it should look like picture twentyfive. haustut25_small.png
