Welcome

Welcome to World of Gothic’s editing zone! After having become the most important contact point for gothic players we also want to become the most important contact point for gothic modders. Thus, we have collected a huge amount of articles and offers concernig gothic-editing which will be further enlarged in the future.

The editing articles are usually applied from the official G1MDK-documentation and edited or newly created by Fizzban, but some are not. In these a hint on the author ot the authors is given at the article’s end. With this we give thanks once again to these authors for their participation.

Suggestions, improvements, expansions or even completely new texts are, of course, welcomed by the community. For this, contact Fizzban by e-Mail or MSN (passport@fizzban.net).

Welcoming Speech from the PB's

A welcoming speech from the Piranha Bytes to all the modders:

Finally, here is the longly waited-for MOD-KIT for GOTHIC!

We have invested much time to create tools and a documentation and keep it actual. Still, creating your own gothic-mods is not newbie business. Programming knowledge is very helpful since the creation of new gothic-mod is mainly based on scripting. It won’t do harm if you already have created mods for other games.

Qustions about the modkits can be asked in the forums on the gothic fanpages. Of course the gothic-team will have a look at them sometimes and try to help you with your problems. Please don’t try the Piranha Bytes support for questions about the MOD-KIT. There is no official Piranha Bytes-support for it.
The MOD-KIT was created due to the gothic fans’ interest and support. Thanks to all those who have already begun to develop their own tools. Special thanks to Nico Bendlin whose tools (VDFS-Viewer, Extractor and MOD-Builder) are already included in the MOD DEVELOPMENT KIT. If there are more people who work on their MODs as dedicated, we will be excited to see the results. Piranha Bytes are already dealing with new projects – what you do with the MOD-KIT is completely in your hands. Have fun with it!
