With the Direct Music Producer you can import, change, export the background music of gothic or you can create new ones. Unfortunately it can come with the 8.x and 9,0 DirectX version of the DirectMusic producer to unexplainable problems (Traces wont be played) and you can just get the old Version (7.x) if you download the
[DirectX 7.0 SDK] (after the unpacking, start DXF\essentls\dmusprod\setup.exe) (The download link is a little bit down in the page, so you must search a bit)
You can import the original music and the provided English-language documentation is sufficiently. So that Gothic can use the new music, you must save all as Runtimefile
